GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
In 2025, GCRTA earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award—the highest form of recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This achievement reflects the agency's commitment to financial transparency and maintaining public trust in how public funds are managed.
Grant Funding Awarded for New Vehicle Purchases
In September 2025, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) approved GCRTA’s request for replacement vehicles. Through the federal Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program, these funds will cover 80% of eligible project costs. By securing this funding, GCRTA extends the life of critical assets while maintaining a State of Good Repair.
Representing Our Region in State Policy Discussions
GCRTA ensures that the needs of Greater Cleveland riders, workers, and communities are met by actively advocating at the state level. Agency leadership participates in legislative discussions and stakeholder forums to protect local interests and reinforce the essential role of transit systems in driving economic mobility and regional growth. By showing up consistently when policy is developed, GCRTA ensures Cleveland’s transit priorities remain part of the statewide conversation.
Ohio Leaders Support State Transportation Budget
GCRTA extended its appreciation to Governor DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly for reinforcing stable funding for public transit over a two-year period.
